The Jalopnik staff works hard to get engineers and design automakers to come and do Q&A for the fans.
These people take time out of there busy schedule to be there and answer questions from the enthusiast crowd.
Then we get inconsiderate people, who should know better, that ask insulting and inappropriate questions.
What a wonderful way to turn those people off from wanting to do it again.
Class it up people and stop being petty.

But it's tradition! That makes it right, right?

It sucks because I'm reading that comment section and more than half can't even be answered so they are wasting everyone's time. It's not like the engineer is going to be seriously offended or upset by the troll comments, he or she will just move on with their day and remember that they got to work on an awesome product.

This actually always infuriates me. Having the lead director for the Z06 talking to us, mere oppo's, is a privilege. Even if you are going to ask something that is maybe slightly offensive, or undermines their design in any way, at least qualify it with a "thank you for your time" or something along those lines.

I've always been kind of concerned about that, primarily the site getting a bad reputation and finding it hard to get people to agree to come on here and take questions. But, I know they have either Matt or a Jalopnik writer with them and I think they do a good job of steering them away from the worst questions and telling them what to ignore.

Right? Looks like their greyed out system is working REALLY well.
